Restraining Orders

Protective Orders

Texas protective orders on the other hand are immediate court orders to protect the person or individual from the other spouse.  This is typically the case when family violence is present.  Protective orders generally restrict contacts by the negligent or aggressive spouse to the passive or non-violent spouse, and typically have a geographic restriction of distance or place of employment or residence.  Protective orders are also signed by the judge or court and are enforceable directly by Texas law enforcement personnel.  Thus if a person who has a restriction based on a protective order, and violates said order, law enforcement can be summoned to enforce the protection, and if necessary further restrain or arrest the violating individual.
